What an incredible trip I’m having. The rundown is a passionate linkgasm… Last night I went to the Laughing Squid NYC drinkup where I drank muchly with my dear, dear friends (well, family) Lori, Scott, Lady Ada (cute pic) and Phillip, was joined later by Audacia Ray (cute pic) and got to meet some really cool people, as well as re-meeting wonderful Dorkbot founder Douglas Repetto. I invited sexy geek public enemy #1 MC Frontalot, who after doing a few Laughing Squid drink commercials, sweetly joined me in closing the night with a nightcap. His sexy geek title is well-deserved. Then this morning I ran across town for dim sum in a giant, dozen-plus blob of sex writers organized by Viviane — including Rachel Kramer Bussel, Suzanne Portnoy, Selina Fire, Lolita Wolf, Funky Brown Chick and deabauchette (and *too* many more to list when I’m about to pass out)… During the brunch, a stranger approached me and asked for an autograph (!zomfg!), which was just blogged here. At tea after, Pauie and Pauline arrived with cameras (*Leica fetish*) and we departed for Central Park to warm up, then to Tony Comstock‘s apartment for a gothic lolita inspired erotic shoot.
Phew, I love this amazing city. I am underfed and underslept and totally getting inspired. Tomorrow is my big important meeting, then I’ll head over to Lady Ada’s mad scientist laboratory (in my suit, ha) and see if she’s got any food, or if Phillip has finished his doomsday device of the week… As usual, photos liveblogged here, livestreaming happens here. New York is extremely inspiring. My NYC set expands here.
And in case you missed the link, I met the *incredible* florid wordsmith debauchette today and fell in love — and she’s just had a bomb dropped in her lap, thanks to an appearance on the Diane Sawyer episode about Spitzer/sex work. DO NOT MISS that post, it’ll leave you as stunned as I am, sitting here, wishing I’d just kept debauchette close and pet her gently like a bunny throughout brunch. And yes, she’s magically gorgeous in person.
So glad I got a chance to meet you while we were both in NYC together. I hope you’ll get a chance to visit London one day so I can show you around the town. Keep in touch and hope you enjoymy book. I’m a jet lagged wreck.
I didn’t think I’d miss New York for a long time, but yumcha with some of my sexy heroes like Viviane, Dacia, Tawana and Rachel is making me tres jealous. Currently bereft of a good excuse to expense a plane ticket so I can share soup dumplings and publishing gossip, alas. That said, glad you’re having fun, say hi to everyone fer me, and safe travels!
