Check out Kink‘s new/upcoming enterprise, The Upper Floor. I got a peek at it today, and the sweethearts at Kink wrangled me a link just for you.
Kink.com has spent 11 years producing quality BDSM entertainment, with a view to celebrating and demystifying alternative sexualities. Much of Kink.com’s material has been experimental, but nevertheless, still commercial. After Peter Acworth obtained The Armory and moved Kink.com into it, The House was formed with the wider mission of ‘exploring and demystifying alternative lifestyles’. The most illusive and challenging such concept worthy of exploration was the creation of a 24×7 BDSM lifestyle space as fantasized about in celebrated BDSM literature such as ‘Story of O’, the ‘Sleeping Beauty’ series, and ‘The Market Place’ series. In such literature, a castle like place is often described in which the rules of society are replaced by the rules of dominance and submission. “The Upper Floor”, together with the Kink.com website, theupperfloor.com, represents The House’s exploration into the feasibility of such a place and such a lifestyle, both from a financial feasibility perspective and a social one.
* Mission: To create a 24×7 alternative lifestyle community.
* Vision: To repurpose the top floor of the Armory as an Edwardian styled Great House, in which masters, mistresses and slaves will all have a role.
How will I ever thank them for being able to share this with you? ::sigh :D
Pasolini, I knew someone would mention Salo’, congrats on beating me to the punch. That dinner sequence had me postulating that it was lifted from “your last movie”. But having seen the movie a gazillion times, I immediately let that notion go.Salo’ is one of my favorite movies of all time and the so-called perversity that happens (S & M and murder) is on another echelon psychologically speaking than most films that explore said topics.. In the end, most people wouldn’t want to be held prisoner, degraded like animals and then slaughtered for the amusement and sexual gratification of Fascist thugs. But The Upper Floor is somewhat reminiscent of Salo’ despite the obvious differences in consensuality and what happens to the participants in the end………
Years ago the “Sleeping Beauty” series horrified me when A. read it. Mostly cause I could not see beyond the non consensual aspect of it. Now with years of experience living and loving a person who went through rape and abuse i know the true meaning of consensual. With it comes the ability to enjoy more BDSM. Now things like this and secret societies make the mind wonder into lustful and fanciful desires.
With the right technological setup with video feeds, blogs, tweets and interactive content this could be the ultimate voyeur/alternative reality adventure.
It’s like 120 Days of Sodom, except consensual and with no murder.
