What a day; SXSW (originally a music and film festival) is now the tech Mecca for its Interactive portion. It is beyond packed to capacity, there are so many people at the convention, the energy is effusive and infectious and you can feel the electricity of people excited to see panels and watch talks —…

Livestreaming from SXSW
So, thanks to Scott Beale — the really cool peeps at Justin.tv gave me a special Nokia N-95 with their new partnership with Qik livestreaming so I would be one of their livestreamers for SXSW: I am in actually in Austin right now, hungry, needing to check-in… But, that all means I’ll be broadcasting live…
Wired names me among 2008 “Faces of Innovation”
This is crazy-cool! I’m in their Wired’s ETech Yearbook 2008: Meet the Faces of Innovation! Number three, even. They grabbed this shot of me *right* as I was on my way to my talk, so I was, in fact, totally nervous and freaking out. I look calm, that’s good… :) The main article link is…
Trying to blog from the Denver airport, but oh noes! I’m pr0n!
This is a screencap of the result you get when you try to visit this website from the Devner airport — nice categorization, eh? So how am I blogging this from the Denver airport? Pure sneakiness. Poor Denver airport travelers — no sex for you! And no work for lots of people, like me. Lamesauce!

Photo by PinarOzger: Tim O’Reilly, Scott Beale and Violet Blue at the Facebook Party, an evening event at the 2008 Graphing Social Patterns Conference in San Diego. On the ETech 2008 coverage roundup post, Tim O’Reilly lists me at the bottom with a not-so-sweet excerpt. Hm. Aside from that dis, the outside observations on my…
Distraction: Wow, I wish I felt like packing right now…
Image: my pal Dacia making out with girls at a convention — um, sadly, not ETech or SXSW. “You can’t see in this photo, but look at the brunette (her name is Marigold) and then make your conclusions about where my right hand is. Um, my thumb is on her clit.” Back from ETech, getting…

What’s up with the Center for Sex and Culture?
Fab picture of Carol Queen by my friend, Black Pearl 10. Is pretty much the question I’m asking this week in my column, The (Off)Center for Sex & Culture: After a struggle, the nonprofit plans for a very sexy future, again. I finally got to ask about their crazy collection — and it makes me…
I *heart* Mynx D’Meanor
I’ve landed back in SF and I plan on writing up an ETech wrap here tomorrow — reflections and feedback on my talk, convention mischief, pranks, ego-lameos, cute and cool hackers, and the admission that I have a couple new crushes. Until then, I’m wiped. But I have to confess that I discovered new favorite…
The Disney, ETech and Monchrom scandal
Tonight — my final night at the ETech conference — I attended the hyooge expensive big party Disney hosted for ETech attendees and speakers. Four hours of top-notch food, a big room, two bars… the works. Weird, swank. I went in with dear friend Scott Beale, and was delighted to see about an hour into…
