More on sex + body image, Immodesty Blaize, other jiggly links worth considering

immodesty blaize

Image of sumptuous British burlesque dancer Immodesty Blaize by the also-stunning Loraine Ross.

* Bombshell Betty comments on the Ugly Violet (trolls and female sexual self-image) column I wrote, and takes the discussion ever further with more sage advice in body love/hate — and don’t miss her excellent post How to look confident when you’re shaking in your boots. That post is like a one-a-day vitamin for me lately…

* Octopus sex! Get your saltwater safewords ready — NPR has the tentacle porn this week. (also @ FB)

* Speaking of Fleshbot references — look what we found this week: is Criss Strokes “gay for pay” or “straight for pay” or just… for pay!? The last photo is like a Go Fug Yourself scrolldown.

* Someone in New York is hiring for a sex columnist — here’s the Craigslist post (via). It sounds fun, though styled a lot like Tristan Taormino’s old Adventure Girl columns, started in 1999… I wonder, does that sex column format still interest people? I guess we’ll see…

* Last night I had the sublime pleasure of spending an evening with the charming and sweet Gary Vaynerchuk (among other delightful people). So when I saw this news item, Sexuality can be determined by wine choice (“An Italian winemaker and philosopher has created three wines he claims can help a person identify his or her true sexuality or ambiguity.”) I immediately wanted a bottle of each, just to taste for myself… Not sex-related: Gary’s interesting take on hip-hop and web celebrity (video). It gets interesting at the end; I listen to hip-hop almost daily right now, so I agree and disagree with him, though he’s got a great point and I think it’s going to take less time than he predicts — it’s happening to me right now.

* More tech — and sex, of course: check out PicLens, a plugin for IE, FireFox and Safari that allows 3-D viewing of galleries. I’m not sure if it is open source but it’s free, and the savvy sexcats over at Kink.com just activated it on all their galleries (for members/subscribers — I asked if it was on freebees and hosted galleries, but not yet). I wonder, if you combine it with porn tumbollages (a Tumblr collage script), do you bend space and time into a doorway to another porn dimension? Sounds dangerous to me. Maybe I should have some wine first.
