Today’s the day, and same-sex couples are lined up around the block at City Hall. Some, like George Takei, simply got their licenses and are planning a big fete for later in the season. In a few hours, I’m heading down to get a good look myself, do some live photos from my Helio (to my Flickr) and at least one livestreamed Qik video so you can see what I see when I’m there (instant notification via my Twitter). In the meantime, and while I anxiously await the hyooge wedding reception San Francisco is going to turn into for Pride weekend at the end of the month, here are a few gay wedding-y links:
* Right now, when you type “gay” anything into Google, the results come up with a sweet rainbow flag stripe next to AdWords.
* The people getting married here today are basically like your next door neighbors, but gayer. The religious opposition protesting the people getting married here today are scary and not the kind of people you want living next door to you, ever. But in San Francisco, even homeless folks want them to go away and have physically gone after those fundies with the creepy truck and the bullhorns. Go home, fundies — even our homeless don’t want you!
* Over at Fleshbot we have the hotness of Madison Young’s new video, Bride of Sin (including a preview video, woo!)
* Also, from the recent archives: Sex Blog Roundup’s collection of real-life smut in Here Comes the Groom and They Do.
as i’ve said elsewhere, I stopped by civic center on my way home from some downtown errands and in my best “live and let live” persona figured “o hai , they can has marriage whatever why have we waited so long for this” but guess what, when I got there, damn the positive energy even got me, mr. njudah, a tad verklempt. Ot at least like, “wow!”
I mean, heck, gays were illegal to marry and I got divorced so I don’t see how gays getting married makes my life suck. In fact, seeing so many people being so positive, I figured “hey! my day just got a little bit better seein’ folks willing to make a lifetime commitment!”
Anyway.
