If you suffer from “sexsomnia” raise your… Uh…

I got really overly excited when I started to read Things that go bump in the night, which endeavors to cover sexual activity that occurs during sleep; I suppose that makes me a sexsomnia hopeful. A sexsomniac? Aside from my eagerness to be sleep-groped or trade my lifelong curse of insomnia for something that sounds much more fun, the article and video take the subject matter very seriously and show people who are not having fun with sexsomnia; it’s nonconsensual, and for some it’s scary. Snip:

Peeing in wardrobes, jumping through windows, eating beans on toast and singing wildly, very loudly. These might sound the activities of drunk students but they are the type of events that can haunt people in their sleep. A programme on ITV this evening – Sleep Walkers: Secrets of the Night – focuses on some of the more bizarre things people get up to while supposedly resting, including one person who unknowingly (and roughly) tries to have sex with his partner. His partner, by contrast, is wide awake and well aware of what is going on.

Being poked, prodded and groped in the middle of the night is not something one tends to ignore. And as funny as the condition known as “sexsomnia” sounds, for the couple showcased in tonight’s programme, it is no laughing matter. (…)

  1. I once awoke to find myself on top of my then boyfriend, riding him cowgirl style. I didn’t like it one bit, freaked out and cried myself back to sleep while he lay there confused and feeling rejected.
I’ve had complete wet dreams too – those make me REALLY happy – so happy that I usually end up masturbating because my pussy feels so amazingly swollen and juicy. (one of those dreams involved me grinding pleasurably on a coffee mug.)

  2. I suffer semi-regularly with sexomnia I suppose. It mostly consists of playing with my partners breasts with no recollection of it in the morning. She quite likes it until she wakes up and realizes that it’s not going to go any further because I’m asleep. She’s tried waking me but by the time I become fully awake the mood is gone and it’s 4 in the morning!
