Last year’s #1 Top Sexy Geek, Veronica Belmont (official site).
Okay, so I’m opening up nominations one day later than usual, but like 2005, ‘06 and ‘07 I’ll be posting the Top Ten Sexy Geeks of 2009 on December 20, 2008. You read that right: I’m pulling a Forbes Web Celeb date switcharoo and making 2008’s winners holders of the “Top Ten Sexy Geek 2009” title. It makes sense when you think about it. So now — the always-surprising, sexy geek blush inducing, Laughing Squid server-smokin’ list is back for its *fourth* year in a row.
Seen a hottie execute some heart-pounding tech-fu? Have you been admiring a builder, scaler or web/phone app babe you feel is unsung for their mad code skillz and nerdy sex appeal? Heard of a sexpot who speaks all the romance languages (you know the ones), built their site from the ground up, or is lurking like an evil mastermind behind a badass startup or tech blog? I do personally handpick the list, but I base it on *your* nominations every year. Now’s the time to let me know: violet at tinynibbles dot com — or leave suggestions in the comments (I approve anons, yo). I do all the research, but any links you send along help. Criteria:
Not nerdalicious enuf:
* Celebrities, especially Hollywood ones and pointless vlogstars.
* Chicks who pose in bikinis with video game themed accessories (sorry Girls of Nerdcore — though I do love my geek-flavored cheesecake).
* Models and actors who talk the talk but don’t walk the walk.
* Anyone I have had sex with. Sorry! (Okay, I was only sorry once. But it was *after* I made the list, okay?!)
* Babes, studs or porn peeps with “geek” and “nerd” plastered all over their paysites, with nothing to back it up (sorry hot Justine Jolie).
* People who are cute, but no one seems to know why they have geek cred.
Also disqualified: anyone who’s already been on this list in a previous year.
Lube up your browser and nominate anyone who is:
* Smart, nerdy and HOT.
* Has done something really amazing this year in tech, and you just totally realized is also irresistibly sexy.
* Someone known for being hot, but has hardcore geek cred that no one seems to notice.
* The total Unsung Hottie in your dev group.
* Tech bloggers or vloggers you just want to point at and go, OMG hw4t!
* You’ll notice I’ve had a cyberlawyer on the list every year; think outside the blog- and vlogosphere to uncover the fierce and delicious people who support, fuel and participate in Internet culture.
* I keep the list gender balanced, but all genders and LGBT noms are especially encouraged. I also strive for racial diversity, partly because I’m sick of going to all these tech parties full of rich white people.
And, as always — single or not, it’s all in fun. One year I had a hot couple on the list!
Oh, dear. Jay Rosen of NYU/PressThink fame isn’t on this list yet? I think there’s been an oversight.

I would like to nominate Brad Fidler for his amazing intellect, specifically in the humanities. He is also creative and has an incredible sense of humor. However, it’s all this in conjunction with a mysterious dark side that makes him irresistibly sexy.

Hazel Dooney, outspoken, ‘sex positive’, überbabe artist at http://www.hazeldooney.com
Virgil:
http://virgil.gr/
Take the recent NYT magazine article about him — the fourth quote at the top of his webpage — with a grain of salt, but there’s no denying the sexiness of this sort of quick-minded mischief. He’s chiefly known for WikiScanner:

http://wikiscanner.virgil.gr/
Booksthatmakeyoudumb is pretty hilarious, though:

I believe you will find that in addition to being a serious geek, Cali Lewis – the geek behind GeekBrief.TV (one of the Top 100 vloggers on iTunes) is also exceedingly hot. I submit the following as evidence:
– Photos of Cali on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=cali+lewis&m=tags&ss=2&s=int
– She was even a GoDaddy girl in this commercial: http://digg.com/television/GoDaddy_Superbowl_Commericial_Extended_Internet_Edition
I rest my case. :-)

My nomination goes to Rani Rhinestone from the Cinnamon Hearts (http://www.cinnamonhearts.ca)… not only is she a fantastic burlesque performer, but she’s starting her PhD after having completed an MA thesis on online interaction, Web 2.0, and social activism. Brains and beauty to boot!
I agree with MissSomething, WankerGirl (blarmcast.com) for sure.
Jeff Teeters at the Redwood Center for Theoretical Neuroscience, https://redwood.berkeley.edu/wiki/Jeff_Teeters
An old-school geek with a Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science, his latest paper is on data sharing for computational neuroscience. And see his class lecture notes on Discrete Mathematics!

If Brad Fidler #30 doesn’t win then this entire contest is meaningless. He has single-handedly redefined both sexy and nerd into the ultimate hybrid.
I nominate uber-hottie: Brad Fidler
http://www.fidlr.tv
“Brad Fidler is a PhD candidate in the History of Science at UCLA.fidlr.tv. He specializes in psychiatric drug market dev/strategy, and arpanet/internet history. Killer cute Cali Lewis and her hotness Morgan Webb…
As #37 said, thumbs up for Kitta, Nikita Kashner.
Also Stephanie Pakrul and Felicia Day.

if for no other reason than demanding that this competition have a swimsuit section.
Sorry, I meant #12. See additional Dana Guthrie Martin links there.
Having worked with Dana Guthrie Martin (see #7) on several sites, I can vouch for her geekiness. She’s built several websites, she’s not afraid to plunge in and hack PHP on a WordPress installation, and she has a robot named Feldman. In the sexiness department, you can listen to her reading this poem of hers qarrtsiluni: http://qarrtsiluni.com/2007/12/06/and-the-crickets-outside-the-window/
I nominate Arield Waldman without a doubt – very cool girl geek and a super twitterer. Plus a cup cake fanatic – what more could anyone want? She really knows her geek stuff. Love reading her tweets and have learned a lot from them.
second on the Rachel Maddow
also: Alison Bechdel (www.dykestowatchoutfor.com) and Nikol of Midwest Teen Sex Show
Aw. I had a chance to interview Justine Joli once, and she really is a big ol’ geek. We must’ve spent at least a quarter of an hour chatting about science fiction novels; then we moved onto video games. I agree she’s probably not hardcore geeky enough to qualify for your list, but I was completely charmed nonetheless.
A little Google-ing and I found these hotties:
Gina Bianchini from Ning

Felicia Day of The Guild
Katharine Fletcher of ChannelFlip Games
