Currently on deadline for three books due on the 1st, I’m swimming through the porny, playful fun of all the work while mitigating trying to remember to eat* (however, I seem to have no problem remembering to drink caffeine or alcohol) and wishing I could be writing for pure pleasure. I have a lot of writing I want to do about living in “the bubble” (of sex, and of tech, and San Francisco), the story of what’s happened with the SF Weekly and it’s porn problem, my thoughts on community management strategies (no, seriously; the front lines teach the best lessons), and how I was almost accidentally sued by Hustler… Phew. In the meantime, I’ve got some nibbles of interest:
* May 20 was declared “porn day” and allegedly 4chan and eBaum’s World called for a porn bombing of YouTube; it was a prank, and in the Ars update eBaum’s said they had nothing to do with it. Still sounds like it was a hassle for YouTube cube n00bs. (arstechnica.com)
* The CA Supreme court is going to issue its ruling on gay marriage next tuesday; Mayor Gavin Newsom asked the court to wait one extra day so as not to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the White Night riots. Good idea, just in case. (sfgate.com, towleroad.com)
* Porn star Stormy Daniels says she’s formed a committee to explore a possible run for the U.S. Senate seat held by Louisiana Republican David Vitter. Oy. (google.com/ap)
* If you’re in SF tonight, Madame S is having an art reception for Suzanne Rachel Forbes, former court sketch artist turned artist to the perverati (7-9 pm, 385 8th Street, San Francisco, CA ). It sounds like a nice lightly kinky way to start the night! (madame-s.com, suzanneforbes.com)
