I love the intersections of fetish and fashion. It’s one of my regular lectures, in fact so clearly I’m not immune. Above is a “hat” from London’s fashion week (gallery, guardian.co.uk). And from Fashion Time, Claudia Schiffer in Vogue Germany October 2009 is a shoot that has, of all things, a strangely sexy choking scenario. (I label it “this fashion is so hot I could just choke a bitch” and hope my newly-acquired feminist-identifying haters use it for yet another blog post about my “sexism”.) Also, it’s not new, but this girl-girl Série noire for Vogue Paris is very dirty and peppered with subtle inclusions of specific fetishes.
But the thing that stopped me in my tracks wasn’t overtly sexual — unless you have a Tim Burton fetish. This fashion tribute to Tim Burton’s films (Harper’s Bazaar October) is absolutely mind-blowing.
