You’re just going to have to bear with me if you’re not in the mood for Valentine’s Day tips: I’ve been putting a lot of thought into getting outside the typical V-Day posts, articles and shopping guides that saturate magazines, retail sites and blogs whenever Feb 14th rolls around. I do plan on pointing you to hotness of all kinds over the weekend, fit for whether you’re coupled or not, yet I do have some fun things to suggest if you wanna make it a hot(ter) Valentine’s Day than usual…
* In Trazzler’s Love In The City contest (they are friends and very cool peeps), readers can submit written stories about their favorite romantic spot in any urban area, in any city — and win a delicious-looking romantic getaway. They’re serious: prizes include cash, five days in a hotel, flights for two — deadline is February 28. And what great too is that in the contest post they have a list of sample ideas that point us to romantic date activities in cities ranging from Paris to San Francisco, New York, and more. (trazzler.com)
* Just want a romantic/sexy destination ASAP? Trazzler also has this one-click “Romantic” page that lists destinations and date activities by spots closest to you. So. Cool. (trazzler.com)
* Need cute ideas? Want to get it on, Maker-style? Feeling like a crafty kitten? Instructables has gone Valentine crazy. They also have a contest to win some tasty looking artisan chocolates (deadline February 17). My favorite Valentin Intructables that you can do easily include How to make (Valentines) Tentacles, Fabric Bondage Cuffs, How To Make Whoopie (Pies), Make A Heart Shaped Gift Box, Build a Webcam Teddy Bear, How to Put on a Condom, Altoids Tin Pocket Date MoJo Kit, and the Clueless guy’s guide to buying flowers. Thanks Violet!
Unrelated…. if you search for “sex hotels” 71Miles comes up first because of a link you gave us in the Chronicle way back. Lots of traffic on that page. Let me know if you want a link back…
Okay, when your post on SFGate was sorely missed last week, I figured Carol Queen was covering for your weekly sex column. No such claim was made, but it was assumed. So today rolls around and still no Open Source Sex column from you. Granted, I can always come to tinynibbles to read you uncensored, but since my main online newspaper is SFGate, that I read daily, has not had a new installation of your lascivious wit and wisdom, I thought I’d post/pose the question. Is your Open Source Sex on temporary hiatus?
