Now in its fifth year, the Feminist Porn Awards are making history, getting recognition from the mainstream porn industry, and becoming legendary. (They didn’t need anything from Big Porn, but I think it’s great to see more bridges built.) No narrow stereotypes of porn, of feminism, or anything else here – just hot porn. I can’t even begin to describe the respect and admiration I have for the event, and I want to see it really become a force to reckon with. I look forward to the announcements every year.
If you’re the kind of person who might be stopped by the word “feminist” because you think it means soft porn, you are so wrong. This porn takes risks and depicts filthiness that the mainstream porn industry does not. It just happens to be made by people you can be certain are in love with what they’re doing, and it’s all sex-positive.
