The above fiberglass reinforced plastic and steel sculpture is nine feet tall – and is called Three Meter Girl.
I’ve wanted to see Japanese artist Takashi Murakami‘s sculptures for many years, and right now Murakami is showing in London at the Gagosian Gallery. His 6-foot-tall resin, fiberglass and acrylic sculptures are outrageous – and the show I missed in Brooklyn had one figure (the ejaculating Lonesome Cowboy) that later sold at Sotheby’s for $15 million.
Wish I’d found the show information sooner; I only found it this evening. But I just had to share the astonishment at what he’s made for this show! I wish I could hop a plane to London and see the exhibition.
