Kudos to Governor Brown. I am so fed up with this manufactured controversy over circumcision! Frankly, it wreaks of antisemitism.
Is the procedure medically beneficial? Maybe, maybe not. I know your readers are too sophisticated to be concerned about the covenant with Abraham; but your own posts have acknowledged the possible medical benefits. The practice was established thousands of years ago when the rest of the world was none too conscious about personal hygiene. As to the downside: reduced sensitivity? Personally I don’t know what it’s like to grow up with a foreskin; but I do know that if you put your mouth on me, I still squirm with pleasure. Is it medically *necessary*? Almost certainly not. So what?? This is not female castration we’re talking about here.
I love your website and I admire your values, mostly. Maybe you should focus your passion on things that really matter.
p.s. Maybe there is something to be said for the esthetic of showing off one’s glans, not hiding it under a hoodie.
