The latest episode of (my current favorite show) Boardwalk Empire featured lots of beautiful, naked, unenhanced, all-natural women. They were not shaved or waxed. Mind you, I’m a personal fan of the shaved babe and being hair-free, but the current trend in porn (the porn people look at as opposed to Hollywood porn) features women of *all* below-belt hairstyles. More than ever, in fact – and I’ve been curating porn sites for over ten years now so I’ve watched the trends come and go. So while I find this article interesting, I am certain it was typed by someone that isn’t looking at the same porn the rest of us are… Snip:
The young women want, she explains, to be ready for sex, “to be hip, and cool and in the know. They want to look the part, act the part.” They’ve seen the super models who are freshly waxed before putting on the expensive bathing suits and lingerie. “We all want to think,” Woxell says, “that we are a little, tiny bit like that.” It is, she argues, just like a designer bag. “Every girl wants to have Louis Vuitton or designer sun glasses or that one designer purse.” Today, Woxell says, if young women have a casual, un-waxed sexual encounter, they are afraid “it might ruin your reputation.” (…read more, freq.uenci.es)
My blog – the one you’re on – features popular porn styles because it what the high traffic here demands, and this post showcases how readily available all-natural (unshaven) porn performers in popular porn are nowadays. Women with pubic hair are quite popular, especially if it is maintained, though this is just as much a matter of individual taste as those who prefer their sex partners – of any gender – hair-free.
Because look: If you’re going to tell me, a woman who curates porn, that the desirable commodity of pornography contains culture’s *reluctant* role models for sexuality, then you better not be ignorant about what is actually in that product. And it ain’t desperate shaved blondes with big fake tits and no ethics, values or morals that make fake animal noises who have no other job choices and were abused as kids and are not very smart. Think: the opposite. Enter: reality. Also, have these people never heard of Sasha Grey?

All or nothing at all. I can’t cope with the whole ‘where to have hair and where not to’ dilemma. It’s easier to just take it all off.
When we come to the point in our society where a healthy young man is going to turn down pussy because it’s wearing the wrong haircut, we need to fear the imminent demise of our species.
I’m glad that women with pubic hair are coming back into fashion. I have never cared for the shaved vagina look (or even understood why it is supposed to be attractive), and the shaving or waxing itself must be unpleasant for the young women (ouch!). Thanks again Violet for showing it like it is instead of the way you’d like it to be.
nice to see some girls with hair (in armpits too)
Real equality means that women can look however they like without having people insist that it is just for someone else or imply that the woman only does it because society forces her to.
I bathe every day. Is that something I do for others or because I enjoy waking up with a warm shower? Am I only used to bathing because society conditioned me with the expectation since I was young? Do I have any free will in anything?
Now I have the phrase “Luis Vuiton Vagina” stuck in my head. Thanks.
I was a little dismayed at the heterocentrism of the article. I faithfully denude myself of hair and have been since my late teens for my own comfort (my wife does not.) Why does it always have to be about making a statement to men? It is simply how I feel most comfortable and nothing more.
