Popsicles, Strap-Ons and Accidental Cunnilingus in Erotic Webcomic “Menage A 3”

Reader MA sent me a link to the saucy webcomic Menage a 3 (aka Ma3) and I dutifully included it as a bullet point on that day’s roundup post.

Since then the comic has really grown on me, and I know a lot of you love webcomics – I remember that Oglaf is a particular reader favorite as well – so I’m going to encourage you to check it out.

The couplings, triplings and various imaginings in Menage A 3 run a whimsical, filthy gamut from inexperienced to a character whose orientaiton is “kinky bastard” and even includes a housecat whose sexuality has nothing to do with anything but makes everyone uncomfortable by staring. Just like in real life.

You may want to start at the beginning, but you don’t need to.

Self-described, the strip is:

Set in Montreal, the finest bohemian city in North America, Ma3 follows the lives of comic book geek, Gary and his way-sexier-than-he-is roommates in their Montreal tight-as-a-sandwich apartment; where the walls are so thin there are virtually no barriers between their rooms.

And you have to love the gender, orientation and sexual experience (or desperation) descriptions of the characters on its Cast page.

The sarcasm is very playful – I think my favorite character is Yuki, described as:

Gary’s partner in the arts, and Zii’s ex and ex-drummer. Prone to mood swings. Once obsessed with Zii, she’s lately been showing more interest in Gary.

Orientation: Technically bi, but phallophobic (sees tentacles instead of penises)

Yuki is getting some hands-on help at right by character Kiley Shefford:

A psych major at McGill U. She works in a magazine store, and has a breast complex. She wants to help Yuki with her phallophobia and help herself with a big thesis on Yuki’s crazy.

Orientation: Straight

  1. I have been reading Ma3 since the beginning, and had been quite enjoying it until recently. Honestly, I have been creeped out in the recent storyline about the lack of consent between characters in sexual situations. What you describe in the headline as “accidental cunnilingus” is actually in the story, one character luring another into performing cunnilingus without his knowledge or consent, which just creeped me out (implausibility aside).
Another beef I have with it is the terrible relationship/sexual communication between any set of characters in the comic. I guess the point is it results in slapstick, but just once, I’d like to see an example of good communication.
