- Late Wednesday night Ashton Kutcher, spearhead of a global anti-sex-trafficking campaign and foundation that never fails to mention sexual assault on children, wrote a tweet to his 8 million followers that the firing of Penn State football coach Joe Paterno was an “insult” and in “poor taste.” Paterno, of which there are currently 17,283 news items about in Google News at this moment, was fired over the Penn State child abuse scandal in which at least 8 young boys were repeatedly raped over a period of fifteen years, some inside the Penn State football complex (Paterno knew). Kutcher has backpedaled and apologized, writing that he was not aware of the news and didn’t “have [the] full story” (in one of several tweets he has since deleted; many remain on his Facebook Page).
