- Actually, now it’s only two days – for the love of free speech, PROTEST THIS my UK friends: The UK’s Department of Education is currently holding a public consultation on parental internet controls, the results of which will influence the coalition government’s decision to implement an mandatory ISP-level content filter, designed to block pornography and other adult content.

- Beacuse, this: A petition signed by more than 110,000 people demanding ISPs block access to hardcore pornography as a default setting to protect children will be handed to the UK Government on Thursday.

- Campaigners in Egypt say the problem of sexual harassment is reaching epidemic proportions, with a rise in such incidents over the past three months. For many Egyptian women, sexual harassment – which sometimes turns into violent mob-style attacks – is a daily fact of life.

- Just… SEND BUFFY TO EGYPT NOW PLZ: “The “Buffy effect” posits that strong characters can combat the negative effects of sexual violence in media.”

- While recent attention has focused on U.S. Senate remarks about “legitimate rape,” it is easy to miss this: On August 10, 2012 President Barack Obama signed an Executive Order on preventing gender-based violence globally. This order was also accompanied by the release of a U.S. Strategy to Prevent and Respond to Gender-Based Violence Globally.

- “My younger brother is gay. I’m straight. Straight as a yardstick. (…) If you’re straight, I think that’s wonderful, and I’m truly happy for you. I wish you all the love and joy in the world. And I charge you, I charge you to imagine the above scenario played out with YOU as the target of rejection.”

- Please do responsibly negotiate your threesomes kthx: David and Mindi Rice spent Wednesday evening injecting themselves with prescription drugs and having sex with another woman. When the SWAT team was called in, David has taken a gun and grabbed his wife by the throat while holding the gun to her face, threatening to kill her. He reportedly fired the gun and the bullet lodged in the wall. The other woman escaped and the couple refused to come out of their home while a SWAT team arrived at the scene. The standoff lasted for two hours; deputies stunned David with a Taser after he reportedly tried to fight them.

- Sorry dude, but everyone is voting for Michelle now anyway. An anti-pornography group believes GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney will fiercely enforce federal obscenity and pornography laws if he wins the election – and is pushing for him to crack down on cable and satellite companies that offer pay-per-view pornography channels.

- Wait: you mean a bunch of people that never look at porn (or presumably at young girls in a gross way) are not expert deciders of what a woman’s age might be in a porn scene? Especially from Porn Valley with tons of makeup and Playboy airbrushing and stuff? … “A commonly used method of judging a woman’s sexual maturation may not be good enough in child pornography prosecutions.”

- Someone at HuffPo learned tags for boringly-risky images in Instagram long after the tags were passed around and then made a headline telling everyone that OMG there’s porn on Instagram (when in fact the more interesting story is Instagram’s harsh new censorship of skin-tastic content – after they were bought by Facebook). All I’m saying is don’t waste valuable time looking for actual porn there.

- What’s really neat to me about this story is that I wrote it last week (with flair, thank you). Cool to see it make the mainstream? “Since 2010, a slew of lawyers have made their living off of pursuing (possible) porn pirates. It’s a controversial living, but it’s a living.”

- Shia LaBeouf revealed that in Lars Von Trier’s forthcoming “Nymphomaniac” all the sex to take place in the film will be unsimulated. He claimed he sent Von Trier, “videotapes of me and my girlfriend having sex and that’s how I got the job.”

The child pornography debate has always bothered me, and it’s interesting that they’re using a (duh) flawed scale to determine the legality of the people in photos.
Same reason why when people try to pressure me into blanket fear of `sex offenders` (as if they’re all child molesters), I ask what they were convicted of.
My most go-to example of someone who would look like a child (in a pornographic setting) is Ariel Rebel (google) who looks very under-18, and IIRC is like 26. :/
Clearly I need to spend more time in libraries.
